Tech Sell-off drags Japanese stocks

Japanese stocks fell sharply on Wednesday, marking a second consecutive day of losses. The Nikkei 225 dropped 3.16% to 65,326, while the Topix declined 3.09% to 4,012. The decline was driven by semiconductor and technology stocks due to significant selling in AI-related chipmakers on Wall Street. Rising global bond yields and higher oil prices negatively impacted investor mood, with Japan's 10-year government bond yield reaching a 30-year high. Companies tied to the global AI supply chain saw major losses: Kioxia Holdings fell 12.6%, Furukawa Electric dropped 13.7%, and Toyota lost 2.7%.
